The user (me) notices:
(firefox-bin:14415): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find the icon
'gnome-fs-regular'. The 'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.
You can get a copy from:
http://icon-theme.freedesktop.org/releases
Observations:
A better message would tell the user what debian package to install.
$ apt-file search gnome-fs-regular
shows some.
Anyway, it seems like this should be a dependency or was one that got unhooked,
$ apt-cache show iceweasel|grep gnome
Replaces: firefox (<< 2.0+dfsg-1), iceweasel-gnome-support (<= 3.0~b5-2),
mozilla-firefox
Suggests: xulrunner-1.9-gnome-support, latex-xft-fonts, xfonts-mathml,

$
So we know it is not in Suggests...
