No, It had worked for me well.
Here's the link which shows root-tail running on top of KDE on my notebook's 
desktop.

What wonders me is that why did it all of a sudden stopped working. The only 
thing I was doing inbetween was playing with my notebook's suspend feature 
which I don't think should have any connection to this defect.
