So that's what that HP logo thingy is that appears on my desktop when I run hp-toolbox! Sadly, it appears in random places on my screen, overlaying whatever happens to be there, and refuses to be moved. One place it does *not* appear is in my systray. Happily, it gives me a menu if I right-click on it, and goes away if I select "Quit" from that menu.
I'm using the openbox window manager (3.4.7.2-2) with the xfce4 panel (4.4.2-6) on a fresh lenny install (from earlier this week, updated just today, 24 July 2008) on an HP Pavilion (AMD-64). This is with hplip 2.8.6-1. (I have another problem with hp-toolbox, which I'll report as a new bug.) The systray icons for other apps, such as xchat and pidgin, appear in my systray area and operate normally. -- Chip -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
