| Hi!
|
| When I run the command "help.start()" within R, the html documentation
| is opened in a browser window (in my case: iceweasel) as expected,
| however the documentation files are copy to /tmp, e.g.
| file:///tmp/RtmpGB3Y2B/.R/doc/html/index.html (intead of
/tmp/RtmpGB3Y2B/ is the per-session / per-user temp directory, and R puts its
help index there when you call help.start():

Making links in per-session dir ... done
In other words: this really is not under our (eg Debian's) control bug
upstream behaviour.
| file:///usr/share/doc/r-base-core/doc/html/index.html)
|
| That's bad, because the links won't work that way, since they are
| relative links don't work from the temporary directory.
I can't really follow what you are trying to say. Something works (ie
browser is launched based on the 'sensible-browser' command that is default
for Debian's R) but then you say something does not work? It does here, eg
- I can follow the links to the manuals
- I can follow the links the per-package documentation
in other words everything works as expected (using konqueror on Debian
testing).
Can you clarify what you did, what you expected and what happened?
Dirk
