This also affects official repositories when using aptitude. I've uninstalled it and cleaned up, so will have to reinstall to recreate these; but from memory and debtorrent logs:
Aptitude update will try to access http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/dists/unstable-i386/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (or the debtorrent variation of that, I tried both ways) Doing apt-get update aptitude will show the ia32-* packages in the list.
