I have problems with docker (the parameter -iconsize doesn't seems to work, lots of apps don't work unless you use the -wmaker option). I found tryion very straight-forward, all works as expected out of the box and unlike docker (which is openbox2-oriented), it's developed with ion3 in mind. So even when both docker and tryion have pretty much the same objectives, I don't find them redundant (or are as redundant as Claws Mail and Evolution, for example).
