Hello, I have found that luola does not start on ppc machines (confimed on #debian-devel by tarzeau). I suppose is an endianness problem as this does not happen on i386, but was confirmed on ppc. When data is read from /usr/share/games/luola/gfx/misc.ldat at some time in the initialization, ir fails at a _llseek. Probaly a read after the end of the file, as the seek values are quite big.
