Even after disabling the plugin (and restarting ice-weasel), Christian Marillat's flashplayer-mozilla plugin still wouldn't work. It wasn't until I removed the swfdec-mozilla package that I got flash working. To me the combination of the swfdec-mozilla package not working on any of the sites that I tried, preventing other flash plugins from working whilst it is installed (effectively breaking those packages), and being depended upon by the gnome meta-package add up to an RC severity.
