Package: msr-tools Version: 1.1.2-1 Severity: normal There seems to be something wrong the 32 bit msr tools. I've got a phenom, so I've been playing with MSRs 0xC0010015 and 0xC0011023 (for the TLB problems). With a 64 bit install, I can read an write those registers just fine. With the 32 bit install, I get this:
# rdmsr -p 0 0xC0010015 rdmsr:pread: Invalid argument # rdmsr -p 0 0xC0011023 rdmsr:pread: Invalid argument Those commands work fine on 64 bit. I found another tool to read and write MSRs here: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Flashing_LinuxBIOS I compiled them and they also properly read those registers on 32 bit. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages msr-tools depends on: ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries msr-tools recommends no packages. msr-tools suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
