Thanks for your report. This bug is likely to be fixed in later poppler versions; could you please confirm it's fixed in >= 0.8.5 versions for example? This might have security implications if the crash is exploitable, but I don't personally have the time to chase down whether this segfault is exploitable and/or how to fix it for the stable version of poppler; if however someone is interested in doing this work, I'm happy to review the resulting patch and prepare a stable upload for it.
