Package: gnome-session Followup-For: Bug #486007
I can reproduce this on two systems. Both the current one (laptop local login) and an other (ltsp server using gdm via xdmcp). This bug also occurs in ubuntu and there is a typically out of control launchpad bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/123078 After spending half my morning reading this, it appears that the conclusion is that something is attemtping to message gnome-power manager, but doesn't bother to check if its actually running. The second to last poster claims that the culprit is "gnome-session-save --kill", but I don't see any direct references to gnome-power-manager in gnome-session-save.c, then again, not being familiar with gnome source code, there may be an indirect reference in there somewhere.
