I will perhaps try this another time, but I have to reinstall after those experiments regularly from a chroot with an install CD. Yes, this old version works and if it should stop working for me, I had to convert back from evms to mdadm with lvm2. It is only a matter of time to do it, since I lost the main feature of evms, which was for me snapshotting for backup purposes. Thanks for your help, Mathias
