Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.11.8-1

It turns out non-starting part of the bug only appears when using using
a $HOME that had GNOME on it at one time, then XFCE and doing a fresh
install of the system (e.g. only $HOME is the same).

So aptitude is installing useless packages, but for most users they
will not block the startup of xfce. So this bug can safely be
downgraded.

I did a test fresh install on a separate machine to determine this.

And that's my crabbing done for the day. Got it out of the way early,
now I have the rest of the afternoon to sniff fragrant tea-roses or
strangle cute bunnies or something. -- Michael Devore
