Direct maps are kind of unsupported, AFAICS, but FWIW, I'm quite unable to reproduce your bug. Enabling direct maps and putting your line into the master map makes it show up in status alright... The trace you show is really odd. "/etc/init.d/autofs status" calls getmounts() directly without piping it through anything, and your trace reads ++ echo --timeout=30 --verbose --debug /- yp auto.mail Indeed, the init script even starts automount: + start-stop-daemon --start --pidfile /var/run/autofs/_-.pid --quiet --exec /usr/sbin/automount -- --pid-file=/var/run/autofs/_-.pid --timeout=30 --verbose --debug /- yp auto.mail Yet it doesn't show up in your status dump? Something seems really inconsistent here; are you sure your status dump is really done with direct maps enabled? I don't have a NIS setup myself, BTW, so debugging these problems are rather problematic. :-) /* Steinar */ -- Homepage: http://www.sesse.net/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
