I don't think that this is a newsbeuter bug but a problem with the feed. However I am also subscribed to the slashdot feed and don't see this. Maybe some GUID change. Can you provide the feed URL (in case it's not the main feed on http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot)?
