Package: evolution Version: 2.6.3-6etch2 Severity: important I am unable to utilize the vertical scroll bar to scroll the list of messages in the message pane in Evolution. I have tried clicking either the top and bottom arrows, as well as attempting to click and drag the slider element. The shading of the arrows and slider changes when the mouse hovers over the element, indicating that the mouse cursor is indeed in that position, but the application completely ignores the clicks. I have tried with all 3 buttons, simply for completeness (using a standard 3-button Sun mouse), although I would only expect the first button to work.
I have attempted running the application with --disable-eplugins to confirm that the behavior is not plugin-dependent. I have attempted the operation under both Xfce4 and fluxbox as well, and it occurs for both window managers. I have attempted to research this issue, and found only two related bugs, one related to a compiz setting (compiz is not installed in my case), and the other related to an older version of gtk-engines (see description of this bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369100 ). I am not certain how the referenced gtk-engines package maps to the available packages on debian currently, I did not see a package with the same name and roughly similar package revision number. I tried starting from the console and watching for messages which would indicate a problem, but the only message was in relation to network-manager not being installed (I am not using gnome desktop or management tools).
