thanks for your mail. A fallback to the keyboard LED (which one? At least my thinkpad does not have a scroll lock LED any more, so only numlock and capslock are safe choices) would be ok, given that when looking for other interfaces first does work well – which it seems to do nicely so far. For the general LED interface: Can we be sure that any entry in /sys/devices/platform/$DRIVER/leds is a sensible choice? If not, I’d rather wait for people to report me the file they want to use, and then add them on a one-by-one-basis. In any case, I’m inviting you (or anyone else) to send me patches for the functionality you want to add and maintain. I’m always very hesitant to write and maintain code that I do not use myself, or that I can not even test (as my machine does not have any LED interface). The latter will change once the ibm-acpi driver supports this interface.
