uhm - sorry - but you should look closer.

I can verify the bug, open-vm does look in the wrong place for  
linux/autoconf.h and thus fail building if the wrong place doesn't contain a 
suitable  linux/autoconf.h.

Hint: module-assistant does check if linux/autoconf.h is present in the 
specified kernel-dir, and doesn't eaven start building the module if it's not 
found. Well, and building open-vm did fail after i did move the current 
kernels headers away.
