Hello Christian, Thank you for your message. I managed to submit a bug report to debian only. I can see that a similar bug (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5761) has been resolved in 3.2.4
The only difference is that I encountered the problem when working with files with colons and the above-mentioned bug involves folders. I guess there is not a big difference however. Many thanks to Jeremy and the Debian bug tracking team. -- Regards, Veselin Kantsev Technical Officer [EMAIL PROTECTED] Campbell-Lange Workshop www.campbell-lange.net 0207 6311 555 3 Tottenham Street London W1T 2AF Registered in England No. 04551928 On Thu, Sep 18, 2008 at 07:34:50PM +0200, Christian Perrier wrote: > Quoting Campbell-Lange Workshop ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): > > Package: samba > > Version: 2:3.2.3-1 > > Severity: important > > > > > > Hello, > > > > I have two debian lenny servers serving SAMBA shared folders to XP SP3 > > clients. > > One server is running samba 3.2.3, the other 3.0.24. > > > > On one of the shares there is a folder which contains email message > > files with names like: > > > > 1164373321.H21047P2656.mail.domain.com:1Gnagg-0000gi-0p > > > > On the 3.2.3 samba server: > > >From XP I can browse the folder containing that file, but if I try to copy > > the file itself I get "Cannot read from source disk" windows error. > > I can however copy the folder that contains the file. > > Didn't a colleague of you, namely Veselin Kantsev, report this in > the samba mailing listĀ ? > > Jeremy discussed this with him and then suggested that a bug is filed > to Samba's Bugzilla.
