I found explore crashing in mayavi on any input (missing assignment to lhs)... but even when fixed (I bet it also was fixed upstream by now) explore doesn't work nice (tree view has a bounded box of like 50x50 pixels and nothing is seen besides)... instead of reporting those problems I simply decided to beg for new packages -- there was recent release of mayavi2 (version 3.0.0) -- it would be great to see it in sid.
