I have had a look at the 0.4.8 code that got uploaded to the FTP master
servers a few minutes ago and it looks like that it unconditionally
validates the UTF8 text.

If possible, could you download pidgin-musictracker 0.4.8-1 and turn of
the bad word filtering and see if that music file with the problem title
causes any problems?  I'm not expecting it to but it would be nice to be
sure.
