Package: bugzilla Version: 2.18-6 Severity: normal Tags: sid I just installed bugzilla 2.18-6. In DebConf, I chose manual configuration and entered stuff. For the new MySQL user, "bugzilla", I intentionally entered an empty password. However, the postinst then failed with the following error message:
... Setting up bugzilla (2.18-6) ... An error occured with the MySQL values ! dpkg: error processing bugzilla (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2 Errors were encountered while processing: bugzilla E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I think the postinst should allow an empty password to be used. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (90, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages bugzilla depends on: ii apache2-mpm-worker [httpd] 2.0.54-4 high speed threaded model for Apac ii courier-mta [mail-transport-a 0.47-4 Courier Mail Server - ESMTP daemon ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii libappconfig-perl 1.56-2 Perl module for configuration file ii libdbd-mysql-perl 2.9007-1 A Perl5 database interface to the ii libtemplate-perl 2.14-1 template processing system written ii libtimedate-perl 1.1600-4 Time and date functions for Perl ii ucf 1.18 Update Configuration File: preserv -- debconf information: * bugzilla/mysql_user: bugzilla bugzilla/mysql_available: true * bugzilla/bugzilla_installation_way: Manual * bugzilla/mysql_host: localhost bugzilla/bugzilla_installation_way_single: Manual * bugzilla/mysql_need_root: false * bugzilla/mysql_root_name: root bugzilla/index_upgrade1: * bugzilla/mysql_name: bugzilla * bugzilla/mysql_port: 3306 bugzilla/index_upgrade2: (some entries omitted for privacy reasons) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
