ok, that helped, and now i have a different problem.

if you've got control over the docs, maybe make the tidy/recurse section like the file/recurse section, in that it lists valid values. I thought they'd be the same.

Whether and how deeply to do recursive management. Valid values are true, false, inf. Values can also match (?-mix:^[0-9]+$).

If I remember correctly, recurse => inf doesn't work (this goes back to at
least a 0.1x release) and you need to use recurse => true instead.  Try
that, and if it works then at least everyone knows the source of the
problem.  <grin>
