Package: fam
Version: 2.7.0-13.3
Severity: normal

Hello, sometime when I load amarok or krusader it takes too long, when I run output I could see that famd daemon was using 100% of CPU, the unique solution that I have found is to restart the daemon, after restarting the daemon the applications could load.

I use many filesystems that I detail below:

Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x24be24bd

  Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1   *           1        3916    31455238+   7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2            3917        9468    44596440    7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda3            9469        9729     2096482+  81  Minix / old Linux

Disk /dev/hdb: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 14593 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x7f3be7e8

  Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdb1   *           1       13815   110968956   83  Linux
/dev/hdb2           14469       14593     1004062+  82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hdb3           13816       14468     5245222+  83  Linux

Partition table entries are not in disk order

Disk /dev/sda: 250.0 GB, 250059350016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x16858aaa

  Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1               1       23956   192426538+   7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda2           23957       30401    51769462+   7  HPFS/NTFS

I have my mp3 colletion in /dev/sda1, its antfs filesystem mounted using ntfs-3g, there is where amarok accesses to get the mp3 files.

famd starts using 100% of CPU in any moment so I still cannot reproduce the bug, I only realize of the problem when my applications doesnt start and when I see my system slow, then I verify the status of fam using top.

Here I give more information about my system:

-- System Information:
