Hi! I'm not able to replicate this on my systems (i686 and amd64) both run youtube smoothly and allow me to pause and restart without any problem.
I'm wondering if you could tell us what version of Debian, swfdec and its dependencies are you using? If you send the report using reportbug it will take care of sending all this by itself.
