Package: usplash Version: 0.5.19-3 Followup-For: Bug #479534 I concur with the original reporter:
If the "splash" statement appears in the bootloader option, all I get is a blank screen until GDM apears. I also cannot get any content on the vcons, even though there *should* be 6 vcons with a login prompt waiting for me. This is a regresion that is about 1 month old. I've executed "sudo update-usplash-theme debian-theme" and verified that... $ ls -l /usr/lib/usplash/ yhteensä 3,3M -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3,3M 9.7.2007 debian-theme.so $ ls -l /etc/alternatives/usplash-artwork.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 6.10. 14:11 /etc/alternatives/usplash-artwork.so -> /usr/lib/usplash/debian-theme.so ...so this is not a question of broken symbolic link. I have verified this bug to exist on a variety of x86 hardware, each booting with a different type of graphic card and under a variety of framebuffer resolutions. It would really be desirable for this to be solved before Lenny is released. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (1001, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages usplash depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.22 Debian configuration management sy ii initramfs-tools 0.92j tools for generating an initramfs ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libusplash0 0.5.19-3 userspace bootsplash library ii usplash-theme-debian [usplash 4 Debian usplash theme usplash recommends no packages. usplash suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
