I put together this map to support the /media directory in the newer
release of Debian. I originally tried making a "direct map" so I wouldn't
need multiple entries for "cdrom" and "cdrom0" (because I could make use
of the symlinks already created). I also didn't want to alter the existing
dircetory to make things like "cdrom0" a symlink to "automount/cdrom0".

This seems a little problematic to me, especially as I'm not sure what FHS
really specifies for /media. For instance, gnome-volume-manager will happily
mount any USB mass storage devices detected under /media, and having autofs
manage /media will surely break that... In short, I don't think autofs is the
right place.

I wouldn't make it on by default (unless you wanted to go so far as to make it configurable with debconf) but giving it as an example map may be useful for people such as myself that are still running legacy systems that don't have a volume manager.
