Forwarding this wishlist bug from a Ubuntu reporter: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/274870 "Currently Xorg keeps only its current log and old older one. While this is normally fine, there are situations where logs from a failed run can disappear (e.g. the first run wedges your graphics hardware, so the subsequent runs from GDM fail for different reasons and leave unhelpful logs. GDM tries several times, so the original log will be lost). While that is indeed a rare corner case, given how small they are, I think it's probably worth keeping 5 or 6 old logs. There may be other situations where being able to compare several runs, or pull an error out of an older log, are useful." So I'm gathering the idea would be to have something like Xorg.0.log, Xorg.0.log.1.gz, Xorg.0.log.2.gz, etc. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers intrepid-security APT policy: (500, 'intrepid-security'), (500, 'intrepid') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
