Package: libdc1394-22-dev Version: 2.0.2-1 Severity: normal The two packages have no files in common and the library and header files have very different names. So I see no good reason for the conflict.
This creates problems if you develop an application that uses the old libdc1394 but need headers of another library, that in turn uses the new libdc1394. If there IS a reason for this, I'd really like to know about it... -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers intrepid-updates APT policy: (500, 'intrepid-updates'), (500, 'intrepid-security'), (500, 'intrepid') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libdc1394-22-dev depends on: ii libc6-dev 2.8~20080505-0ubuntu7 GNU C Library: Development Librari ii libdc1394-22 2.0.2-1 high level programming interface f ii libraw1394-dev 1.3.0-4 library for direct access to IEEE libdc1394-22-dev recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
