The input length at the package install option for hosts/groups is limited by the width of the used terminal. If I use e.g. konsole and scale it down to a very minimal window and try to install a package with a longer name (or multiple ones) as the input is, it will not accept all keyboard inputs above it and also does not give it away to apt-dater-host.
