I'm running memtest86+ on an amd64 system with 4GB of RAM.

Memtest86+ correctly detects the RAM below (4094M), but after a bit of
testing, look at the range being tested: 4096M - 4608M.  It claims to
be testing RAM that it doesn't even think exists!

This doesn't leave me with confidence that the code is actually
covering the range of RAM it thinks it is.  FWIW, this is with "Memory
Sizing" set to "BIOS - Std" (the default).  The output below is from
the serial console, and when i choose "Display SPD Data" from the
configuration menu, it says "SMBus Controller not known".

Hardware details:

 * The CPU is an Athlon 64 X2 4450e.

 * The RAM is from PNY, part number MD4096KD2-800
   It is spec'ed at: DDR-2 PC2-6400 800MHz 

 * The mainboard is a Foxconn A78AX-S
