Package: djview4
Version: 4.3-4
Severity: important
With the djview in Etch, I was annoyed that the File/Open dialogue defaulted
to *.{djvu, djv}, and had no memory for me choosing another one. I even patched
it away at one point. With 4.3-4, there *is* no way to specify other file names
except typing the full file name manually. (Unless there is some Gnome or KDE
or whatever-desktop-environment-is-tied-to-Qt global preference for file
dialogues -- I use a traditional (c)twm desktop and don't have those utilities.)
Since Debian isn't MS-DOS and file name extensions carry no specific meaning,
I suggest that the default should be not to discriminate against file names
at all (except dotfiles, I guess).
(Sorry for the sarcasm. None of my DjVu files have file extensions, so this
feature is a problem for me. I will hack my local djview4 copy later.)
