Hi! Thanks for packaging Magpie! I've had a look in to see what the customisations are in Moodle, so that we can unbundle it from the Debian version and depend on the library instead, and here's what I've found. http://cvs.moodle.org/moodle/lib/magpie/rss_fetch.inc?r1=1.6&r2=1.7 Is the delta - these are bug fixes related to cache headers - some rss feeds have an extra new line after some headers which was causing them not to be respected. There's an upstream bug for this: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1001587&group_id=55691&atid=477910 That was reported in 2004! And hasn't had anything done with it. Here's the Moodle bug report summarising these changes: http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-7045 It looks like magpie upstream is pretty dead in the water (last release November 2005 and no action on bugs) but if you can patch the Debian version with our fixes, we can depend on the library instead of bundling. I'm cloning this bug and assigning the clone to magpierss.
