I fetched a list of all!! German PO files from Dennis Barbiers http://www.debian.org/intl/l10n/po/de page and just used his PO files. So I don't have to download the source of all Debian packages and don't need to search for the corresponding file the name and position is not easy to determine, one can only guess.) You're right that the file I used is opcodes/po/de.po. Since I found only one minor typo in this file (but ten of thousands at all) I don't care much about this.
