I just tried with version 0.9.7.8, and the problem remains. When I try to edit a card, I can not enter Devanagari characters. At the same time, I can enter characters in a Gnome Terminal, or in thunderbird, however.
Sorry, but I am not going to install a fresh system to help track down this bug. It is not that important to me.
