I asked for help with this on debian-devel a while ago (because it causes FTBFS on some archs), but never got a response and I kinda lost track of the issue. Thanks for the information. Hopefully this will fix my issue. Unfortunately, at the moment my pbuilder can't satisfy the build deps, becuase of a version mismatch elsewhere in unstable (libfontconfig1 and fontconfig-config), but hopefully that will work itself out quickly and I should be able to build in the next day or two.
