Yes, as I said in my first message, I could resolve those names using host or
dig.
Moreover, running streamtuner from a terminal I had this messages:

RuntimeError: Could not resolve host: directory.google.com (DNS server
returned answer with no data)
BUT:
Now, I've purged-reinstalled streamtuner, and upgraded some of the packages it
depends on (notably python stuff) to the current unstable versions and the
problem disappeared.
So I guess it was some incompatibility between the new streamtuner package and
some of the oldish dependencies installed on my system.
