Hi, I also have problem with kerneloops using 100% CPU (one core in a Q9550).
The problem seems related to the size of /var/log/messages. In my case the problem started when /var/log/messages reached around 5 MB, not that much. If I move away the file and create a zero size file, everything is OK. If I move back the real messages file, the problem come back. System is a fully updated Debian/Lenny, kerneloops 0.10-2. Attaching the output from "strace kerneloops --nodaemon --debug"
strace_kerneloops_small_messages.gz
Description: GNU Zip compressed data
strace_kerneloops_big_messages.gz

Please let me know if I can supply any other info! /Georg
