asking for a new upstream version because it will allow you to do X is
classified as wishlist severity. the only reason why it might be different
severity is if there is a verified security vulnerability, but then the
report should state that.

this requires departing from the "stable" series to the "advanced"
series, which sounds like it might cause problems/introduce bugs, though
i'm not opposed to doing so... it'll probably just take a little more time
to review the update.
