Package: gnome-volume-manager
Version: 2.22.1-1
Severity: important

When several users are logged in via gdm and a removable device is inserted,
all running instances of gnome-volume-manager try to mount it in a race.
This usually results in the device being mounted with wrong permissions,
rendering USB devices pretty much unusable for multi-user workstations.

Discussion of bug #305846 includes a suggestion to use consolekit and enable
multiuser support for gnome-volume-manager at compile time. This fixes the
issue.
However, no comment from the maintainer in 5 months following that comment.
Therefore, I'm submitting a new bug report.

Why is gnome-volume-manager still built with the --disable-multiuser flag?
Also, should it have a dependency on consolekit, or at least a Recommend?

thanks,
Jussi
