Probably, I'm not sure when the "options" parameter for init() appeared.

In all fairness, I encountered this with debhelper 7.1.0 which IS in
experimental.
The main reason I reported this was that it broke my build of "context"
with a very weird error (during "debian/rules binary"

        cp scripts/context/stubs/unix/* $(instbase)/usr/bin

"cp refused to copy thru dangling symlink" or the like)
which I traced back to dh_installtex not honouring its --flavor argument.
I just wanted do spare someone else the investigative effort :)
