Sorry I forgot to say:
I'd suggest that passdev is NOT automatically included in intramfs images.
dependencies hooks (I'll provide an example of such a script from my
decrypt_openpgp works),... should do this whenever passdev is actually
needed.
Ok,... I've just said that device:path should be generally
supported,.. but there are still cases where no files are read/used at
all,.. and it should be possible for them to save the space in the
initramfs image ;)
