some googling gave me these bugs reports in other distros: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/12248 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/255008 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153115#c4 They talk about a different key (Up), but I assume it has the same cause. One fix seems to be a patch by Fedora http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewvc/devel/xorg-x11-server/xserver-1.5.0-force-SwitchCoreKeyboard-for-evdev.patch?revision=1.1 So it might not be gnome related after all. I’m re-assigning to xserver-xorg.
