Package: pidgin Version: 2.4.3-4 Severity: wishlist Pidging has a number of addon packages. At least some of them are useful for the average pidgin user. None of them seems relevant enough for pidgin to Recommend, but I believe that it would help users to know about them, and hence they should be Suggest-ed byt the package pidgin. Unless the maintainer of this package believe a certain plugin better not be used, that is :-)
Specifically -libnotify seems handy. -plugin-pack has a few useful ones but clutters the list of plugins (hint: they are not translated, so if your interface to pidgin is in some alternative Alphabet, the main plugins will be in the end). A number of others look useful for others with a more standard usage profile than me. pidgin-audacious - pidgin integration with Audacious pidgin-blinklight - Blinks your ThinkPad's ThinkLight upon new messgaes pidgin-encryption - pidgin plugin that provides transparent encryption pidgin-extprefs - extended preferences plugin for the instant messenger pidgin pidgin-festival - pidgin plugin to hear incoming messages using voice synthesis pidgin-guifications - toaster popups for pidgin pidgin-hotkeys - Configurable global hotkeys for pidgin pidgin-lastfm - Last.fm plugin for Pidgin pidgin-libnotify - display notification bubbles in pidgin pidgin-librvp - MS Exchange RVP instant messaging plugin for Pidgin pidgin-mpris - sets your available message to your currently playing track pidgin-nateon - Pidgin plugin for NateOn instant messaging service pidgin-otr - Off-the-Record Messaging plugin for pidgin pidgin-plugin-pack - 30 useful plugins for pidgin pidgin-privacy-please - A pidgin plugin for enhanced privacy pidgin-sipe - Pidgin plugin for connect to LCS pidgin-themes - Smiley themes collection for pidgin Patch is not added, but the change is trivial once you agree on the list of packages. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=he_IL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=he_IL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages pidgin depends on: ii gconf2 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libatk1.0-0 1.22.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.7-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.6.4-7 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.1-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.76-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.19-3 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.11-4 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtkspell0 2.0.13-1+b1 a spell-checking addon for GTK's T ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.5-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpurple0 2.4.3-4 multi-protocol instant messaging l ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Session Management library ii libstartup-notification0 0.9-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxss1 1:1.1.3-1 X11 Screen Saver extension library ii perl 5.10.0-18 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii perl-base [perlapi-5.10.0] 5.10.0-18 minimal Perl system ii pidgin-data 2.4.3-4 multi-protocol instant messaging c Versions of packages pidgin recommends: ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.19-2 GStreamer plugins from the "base" ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-good 0.10.8-4 GStreamer plugins from the "good" Versions of packages pidgin suggests: ii evolution-data-server 2.22.3-1.1 evolution database backend server ii gnome-panel 2.20.3-5 launcher and docking facility for ii kicker 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5 desktop panel for KDE ii libsqlite3-0 3.5.9-5 SQLite 3 shared library -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
