*** Please type your report below this line *** As scanning is the primary purpose of this program suggest that not being able to start scanning (or at least opening the scanning window (File/Scan) without a shortcut key should be changed. Suggest 1. that File/Scan should be mapped to a shortcut key (eg Control+G for want of a better key). And 2. When the Scan Document window appears that the "Scan" button should be the highlighted/focussed. So that on opening gscan2pdf a user needs to type Control+G and then Return/Enter key to start a scan. This obviously assumes that the default settings are as a user wishes, but it is a possible and reasonable scenario. It also would provide a better and quicker solution to a user who either does not wish to use a mouse. The current situation requires a lot of keystrokes/presses (although if the "Scan Document" window is closed (but not gscan2pdf itself) and then re-opened gscan2pdf retains where the focus was last placed.
