squashfs 3-4 with lzma 4.57 in the URL http://www.gilug.org/?q=node/309 you'll observe that this version of lzma does better compression that the previous version, even 25% less than squashfs+gz. I expect that it could be a base for a new Debian package, Happy holidays, Jordi Pujol
