Hi Glenn, today's apt-get updated my rt2860-source package from version 1.8.0.0-1 to 1.8.0.0-3. With this new version the depmod is no longer run. The build process now succeeds also for a normal user. I was not aware of the newer version when I wrote my last email yesterday. Would you please close bug #508805 as resolved.
