(Going through old bug reports, but wearing my upstream hat...) We now recommend use of codecs from RealPlayer 9 (i386) or RealPlayer 10 (i386 & amd64).
I for one have never used the codecs from mplayerhq, having found that the Real ones work well enough. (There were problems with their Cook audio codec on amd64, but that's fixed these days.) -- | Darren Salt | linux or ds at | nr.
