in the simple examples, the class GRUB is defined for every I386 machine.
If disk_var.sh does not exist (because the machine was not installed with
fai...), running a fai softupdate will overwrite /boot/grub/menu.lst with
wrong contents which won't boot the machine.
This is related to #312296 - and explains why I don't like the proposed patch
there.
I propose to change the last line
of /usr/share/doc/fai/examples/simple/class/50-host-classes to
ifclass I386 && ifclass FAI_INSTALL && echo "GRUB"
