I have forwarded to upstream

yes you could :) add to /etc/apt/source.list
---------
# Debian experimental
#deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ experimental main contrib non-free
---------

and to /etc/apt/preferences
----------
Package: *
Pin: release a=stable
Pin-Priority: 990

Package: *
Pin: release a=unstable
Pin-Priority: 99

Package: *
Pin: release a=experimental
Pin-Priority: 9
------------
do a apt-get update

then apt-get install -t experimental imagemagick, normally it will
work but I think your test case is quite good :)
